My sexuality is not a sin,
my love is not a crime.
I never vote on your marriage,
why must you vote on mine?

You protest 'our kind' on the streets,
You tell us we are sin.
We must walk among the hate,
We take it on the chin.

This world is filled with anger,
denial of our rights,
lasting through the screaming days,
howling through the nights.

Can a human still be human,
if he is not like you?
What makes a person 'bad' or 'wrong'?
What makes 'our kind' taboo?

You protest saying our strength will wane,
our country will cave in,
But what makes us strong could make you strong,
if you look beneath the skin.

This fighting has become absurd,
what we all need is love,
You still believe in that, don't you?
The love from God above?

You treat us all with so much hate,
I feel you don't remember,
You don't remember that special blessing,
of love's glowing ember.

All we want is equal right,
to love our fellow man.
if your lord is who you say he is,
would he make love a ban?

My love is just as sweet and pure,
my love is just like yours.
Please don't be part of the hate,
Please, just stop the wars.

Something I re-wrote off of my old, old account. I added a lot to it, and I still may write a little more for it.
But so far, I really like it.

Feel free to interpret this your own way, but do so with the knowledge I am a bisexual female who grew up in a Christian background and I retain my faith.
I have nothing against God. It's his fanclub I don't like.

This poem belongs to me, Crystal L. Bugner. If you use it, please link back and include my name! I'd also like to know if you plan to spread the word!

How can you express this poem? Beautiful? Extraordinary? Fantastic?

It rhymes so well, plus, not to mention, it sums up basically what I feel, and, I'm pretty sure, what other Bisexual/Homosexual/etc people feel, too.

Equal rights. God. Love. So many topics rolled into one here. Sometimes, this can get confusing, but CrispyFriedUke did it perfectly.

Keep up the good work, and I hope to see more from you!

This guy is definitely worth devwatching!

You know the closest the bible ever came to opposing homosexuality was sexual immorality, that's the part everyone gets confused simply because the place it's mentioned involves homosexuals, homosexuality itself is not sexual immorality.

Sexual immorality refers to sick stuff like entirely sex-oriented lifestyles, molestation, prostitution, rape, etc. (You know, the kind of crap most of us already see as dirty/evil without being told so.)

But of course, some dumbass notices that gay people are involved in that part and suddenly homosexuality is THE DEVUL111!! D: D: D:

You'd think overzealous Christians would bother to maybe actually read the very book that they cherish so deeply before they go out and judge other people without being judged themselves (hmm, now where have I heard a phrase like that before...).

I'm a heterosexual male, I should mention.

D'aww, miss, it's not that I don't love everyone the same - your preferences don't change the person you are at all. However, I don't think I quite understand the point of gay marriage. It certainly isn't that I don't think you deserve the right to say you're married to the one you love, but that's just it. It's just a claim, isn't it? Why not make it anyway? Buy a couple of rings and call her your wife if you must, but being legally married is sort of just a reigning-in ritual.

By the way, I do NOT support those rabid foaming-at-the-mouth protesters who literally fight gays and bi-sexuals. Honestly, people will be people, and we shouldn't try to alter their free agency. I wouldn't be the least bit disturbed if gays were given the right to marriage, but it also wouldn't change my standing.

I did a really bad job explaining my point in the last post: More or less, what I wanted to say was that while I personally believe you're committing a sin, I don't understand why anyone would persecute you. That's like running around to bars and going on strike against the people who are there inside drinking. What you do or don't do is all up to you, miss. You deserve respect as a daughter of god no matter what you do.

*waves a little bit* I just wanted to show you this. [link]
It's a small fragment of a big one but I think that's why it's an issue of why they want to be married. I only wanted to let you know with no fight behind it whatsoever. :) Enjoy your day.

Would I be able to use this poem in a project on gay marriage for school? (giving you credit of course.)

It's beautiful btw. :)
